Sage is committed to ensuring the seamless integration of the content we publish into key library discovery services, following industry standards and best practices for our metadata. Indexing coverage

Sage optimizes all online products for indexing in these discovery tools for academic libraries and other research institutions:

  • Clarivate: Alma Community Zone, Primo, and Summon (via the Central Discovery Index)
  • EBSCO: EDS (EBSCO Discovery Service)
  • OCLC: WorldCat Discovery

NISO Open Discovery Initiative

In compliance with NISO’s Open Discovery Initiative Recommended Practice, Sage is pleased to publish our ODI Conformance Checklist.

Metadata

MARC records

Sage provides complementary MARC records for Learning Resources products (Sage Reference & Academic eBooks, Sage Video, Sage Data, Sage Skills, Sage Campus, Sage Business products, Sage Research Methods products, CQ Press products). Our MARC21-compliant records incorporate RDA elements and are designed to enhance the discovery and usage of Sage Learning resources products within libraries. Please note that MARC records are not provided for print books or journals.

MARC records are released within two weeks of product launch. Sage MARC records can be accessed via a subscription-sensitive download feature for Sage Reference and Academic Books, with export filters, on our SecureCenter platform.

KBART files

Sage delivers KBART II-standard files for all products to the following Global Library Systems Providers and Discovery Service Providers:

  • Clarivate (Alma Community Zone, SFX, 360KB)
  • EBSCO
  • OCLC
  • TD-Net
  • WT Cox Subscriptions
  • Suweco

Institutional Holdings Reports

Institutional Holdings Reports in KBART II format for Sage Learning Resources and Sage Journals are available for download.

For Learning Resources products, the reports can be downloaded from the SecureCenter platform.

For Sage Journals, the reports can be downloaded from the access options page (instructions are available on the Sage support hub).

KBART Automation

KBART Automation is a NISO recommended practice that supports the exchange of library-specific KBART-formatted holdings reports between content providers and library discovery service knowledge bases.

Sage supports KBART Automation for journals and most learning resources products with Ex Libris Alma and OCLC.
