Ben graduated in Music from the University of Surrey in 1996 and since then has worked in a variety of sales, marketing and general management roles in music publishing and education. He has previously worked for Faber Music and the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. He joined Oxford University Press in 2015 as Director of Music Publishing and took up his role at Epigeum in September 2020. Outside work, Ben is a keen cyclist and sings in a choir.

Naomi has a BA in English and an MA in Publishing. Prior to Epigeum, Naomi worked in medical and academic publishing, commissioning books and companion resources across a range of higher education subjects, with a primary focus on nursing and allied health. She now develops courses across Epigeum’s publishing portfolio, with a focus on building international collaborations.

Suparna graduated with an MA in English Literature from India and has since built a diverse career spanning journalism, book publishing, and digital learning. She started her professional journey in journalism, working as a reporter at The Statesman newspaper before moving on to become an editor at NDTV 24x7, India’s leading English news channel, where she contributed to editorial decisions and news coverage. She later transitioned to publishing, managing book production across various subjects as a project editor at Dorling Kindersley.

Harriet has worked in academic publishing since 2011 and moved into Edtech and online learning 10 years ago. With a background in teaching, she has had various roles in digital product management, developing educational products and learning design. She loves building new products from scratch, finding product market fit and creating engaging online learning experiences for users. As a commissioning editor on the research strand, she has responsibility for the success of Epigeum’s flagship program the Research Skills Toolkit and our newer Research Impact program. She loves finding new and innovative ways to engage learners. Outside of Sage she enjoys travelling with her young family and managing home renovation projects.

Sophiya graduated with a BA (Hons) in English Language and Literature from King’s College London before completing her MA in English: Issues in Modern Culture at University College London in 2017. She has worked in the editorial side of academic publishing for over 7 years, with previous roles at Macmillan and Bloomsbury. Sophiya joined Epigeum (part of SAGE) in 2023 as Commissioning Editor on the research strand and looks after the strategy and development of our research integrity programmes. She is passionate about working with authors to create high-quality, engaging content that will help researchers succeed throughout their career. Outside of work, Sophiya enjoys visiting art exhibitions, writing creatively and looking after her cat, Meryl.

Since graduating from the University of Edinburgh in 2018 Beth has gained an MA in Publishing and has held several editorial positions in academic publishing. Prior to joining Epigeum, Beth worked as a commissioning editor for Psychology and Counselling textbooks and courseware. At Epigeum she is responsible for a selection of courses in the Research Strand, with a focus on continuing professional development for more experienced researchers. She is passionate about creating engaging and robust resources to support researchers in their careers.

Hans studied American History at Middlebury College and Freie Universität Berlin. He has a broad background in academic publishing and higher education, working in sales-focused roles at De Gruyter, Frankfurt Book Fair and Adam Matthew Digital. After living in North America for several years, he joined Epigeum in the spring of 2021. Outside of work, Hans is passionate about basketball and local history.

After completing her BA (Hons) in Modern Languages at the University of Exeter, Amy taught English as a Foreign Language in France and Spain before returning to London and joining Epigeum in 2019. Amy was responsible for developing Epigeum’s partnerships with institutions across the north of the UK and in BENELUX for three years before she moved to New Jersey. After a sabbatical spent volunteering in the educational justice space, tutoring in prisons with the Petey Greene Program, Amy has rejoined Epigeum state-side as the new Academic Partnerships Manager for our US institutional partners.

Victoria graduated from Nottingham Trent University in 2013, and has since worked in the Higher Education market for 5 years. Before joining Epigeum in October 2019, she worked within the Higher Education department at Oxford University Press focusing on print, eBooks, and e-learning resources for law & criminology students across the South West & Wales. At Epigeum, Victoria is responsible for maintaining and growing collaborative partnerships that Epigeum has with universities and institutions across the UK, Ireland, and Europe.

Jonathan Wakeford

After completing his BA (Hons) in European Studies with Spanish at the University of Bradford, Jonathan moved to southern Spain where he taught English as a Foreign Language for several years before becoming the Administration Manager of a small company working in the marine sector. Following his return to the UK in 2010, Jonathan began working for Elsevier, a global publishing company, first as part of the Customer Service team dealing with academic journal editors, reviewers, and authors, and latterly as part of the Training and Implementation team for new academic journal launches. In 2014, Jonathan joined the Training team at Oxford University Press, providing online and in-person training and support on online academic resources to universities around the UK and the rest of Europe. He has formed part of the Epigeum Implementation team since August 2018. Jonathan is passionate about providing first class support to help clients achieve their goals.
