Sage Campus New Courses for 2026

We are delighted to announce the three new courses coming to Collection 1 in 2026. The new courses are being developed by experts to help students and researchers develop new skills or build on the knowledge from previous courses.

Advanced Critical Thinking

Instructor: Dr Tom Chatfield, author and tech philosopher with a special interest in critical thinking, AI and tech ethics

In this course, you’ll build on the learning from the popular Sage Campus course Critical Thinking to explore more advanced techniques. You’ll be introduced to new strategies to enhance your critical thinking skills (such as building steel man arguments, employing Socratic questioning, and using fallacies), before putting them to the test using a broad range of activities.

Choose Your Research Method

Instructor: Dr Peter Civetta, Director of the Office of Undergraduate Research at Northwestern University

In this course, you’ll learn about popular qualitative, quantitative, and multi methods research methodologies. You’ll be introduced to the basics of what these methods are and why they’re used, and be guided to choose an appropriate method for your research goals.

Creating Engaging Academic Research Posters

Instructor: Dr Randal Sean Harrison, faculty member in Emerging Technologies at the Hesburgh Libraries, University of Notre Dame

In this course, you’ll discover how to create an engaging poster for presenting your research at a conference, symposium, meeting, or class. You’ll learn the significance of creating a poster, how to avoid common mistakes, and how to effectively format and structure your poster for maximum impact.
